Three ethnographic films by high school students from Marmara Island, Turkey

The Center for Visual Anthropology – VAC from Belgrade, Galimi Çınarlı Rural Development and Tourism Association and the Adadajiz Hub jointly organized a visual anthropology workshop for high school students on the island of Marmara in the town of Sarajlar from October 11-20, 2024. In just eight days, the participants made three short ethnographic films dealing with children’s games, growing up, stories about marble, olive production and the ferry connecting them to the coast of Turkey. This project was implemented and financially supported by the VAHA transnational network.

Adil i Elif Ćamur from Marmara Island, who will be our guest during the festival, will tell us about life on the island, intangible cultural heritage and the project.
