About Vizantrop

Association “Vizantrop” is a non-profit association, founded for an indefinite period in order to achieve the objectives in the field of ethnology and anthropology and other social sciences and humanities, culture, education and the arts, with a focus on visual arts and scientific research.

The objectives of the Association are nurturing, development and dissemination of culture, education in the field of ethnographic and documentary film and art, with a focus on scientific practices and filmmaking.

Relja Pekić

Master of ethnology and anthropology from Belgrade. His field of research is in the domain of visual anthropology, anthropology of sport and tourism, and engaged anthropology. In 2018, he became the director of the Center for Visual Anthropology - VAC and a member of the "Vizantrop" collective. Relja is a member of the selection committee and director of the festival of engaged ethnographic film "Vizanthrope", which took place in 2019 and 2020 in the UK "Stari Grad" in Belgrade, and he was twice elected as president of the student jury at the International Ethnological Film Festival in Belgrade. He is the author of 6 short ethnographic films, and with the film "Crossroads of Culture" he won the audience award at the first SEF festival in Zadar. At the "ETNOFILM" festival (Rovinj) in 2019, he was chosen as the main selector for the student program. 9 years ago, he founded the "School of Visual Anthropology" workshop, in which he participated as a lecturer, editor and mentor.

Ana Cvetković

Born on August 20, 1987 in Kragujevac. She completed her studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, majoring in Ethnology and Anthropology. During her studies, she became interested in the problems of the society in which she lives. Therefore, in 2008, she enrolled in the two-semester alternative program "Center for Women's Studies and Gender Research" in Belgrade and received their official certificate. As a very active member of Women's Studies, she started working in 2010 on the SOS telephone of the Autonomous Women's Center, and since 2012 she has been leading self-help groups as an experienced presenter.

- In 2013, she became Vukana's mother.

- In 2014, she shot the film "How I Won", which was shown at the themed evening "Feminist Directors of Serbia".

Kosta Talbić

Kosta Talbić is a student of Psychology at the Faculty of Media and Communication, First Krovadžija and Co-Co-Founder of the Social Center Krov. Kosta is the founder and host of the Metaphyisca podcast, as well as the Metaphysical Literature Readers' Club, which deals with the maintenance of the world's spiritual heritage. He is also a Member and Organizer of the Engaged Ethnographic Film Festival - Vizantrop.

Nina Mladenović

Completed basic studies in Ethnology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade and interdisciplinary master's studies in Cultural Policy and Management at the University of Arts in Belgrade. She is the co-founder of the Vizantrop association and one of the organizers of the Engaged Ethnographic Film Festival - Vizantrop. She is the co-author of several short ethnographic films that were shown at festivals in Serbia and the region. Since 2019, she has been a mentor and lecturer at the School of Visual Anthropology, organized by the Center for Visual Anthropology - VAC. As part of her master's research, she dealt with the topic of precarious working conditions in the cultural sector in Serbia.

Anđela Dostanić

Born in 1995 in Belgrade, graduated in Ethnology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. She is one of the co-founders of the Vizantrop association and project coordinator and member of the selection committee of the Engaged Ethnographic Film Festival - Vizantrop. She is the author of several student films that were shown at numerous domestic and foreign festivals. During her undergraduate studies, in addition to visual anthropology, she became interested in the field of urban anthropology. She is currently completing an international Erasmus Mundus Master in Urban Studies (4CITIES), during which she studied at six universities in Brussels (VUB, ULB), Vienna (Univie), Copenhagen (KU) and Madrid (UCM, UAM).

Workspace

Collective "Vizantrop" is part of the social engaged creative hub "Roof" in Belgrade. The three founding communities of ROOF are Visual Anthropology Center – VAC; Center for Ethno-musicological Activities – CED and Collective VIZANTROP cooperating with various organizations and individuals.
