How to perceive the phenomenon through the anthropological eye of the street, create a history, recognize the time and build immediacy and reflection through the framework? How do you observe, understand, send a message the right way and sort the composition so that the photo exhibitions can have a clear story?

You will learn that and much more during a 7-day workshop in Belgrade (Serbia) at the Social Centre “KROV”.

Igor Čoko (1975) was born in Knin, Croatia. He graduated Ethnology and Anthropology in Belgrade. He is the editor-in-chief of the photo magazine Grain. As a visual anthropologist, with his camera he records and explores the sensibility of street life, its people and the lives of stigmatized social groups. His photo books are part of the collection of the Hasselblad Foundation Library in Gothenburg, Sweden. The workshop will feature interactive lectures and mentorship in the field. Participants will work in teams or on an individual basis. The final product will be a photo exhibition following the opening of the fifth edition of the engaged ethnographic film festival “Vizantrop”.
